The CEO of Countrywide, Angelo Mozilo, in my opinion, wins the contest for worst injustice of the year. The CEO, reported by Reuters, made $121,000,000 this year with pay, perks and stock options… This is while his company lost $704 million (also a report from the news service). The company will be bought up and completely disappear at the same time this guy joins the ranks of the world’s wealthiest. To make matters worse (if your belief system includes justice) Angelo is accused of creating SweetHeart Deals for a bunch of “Bigwigs”…. This is a total shame: Crazy levels of wealth for him while the company goes down the tubes and his buddies get wholesale deals. This has to stop! Not because of the injustice, but because if it goes on without consequence it will beget more of it! Corporate Ethics consists of two words at the very top, “I’m Good!” The country’s entire real estate market, mortgage market, secondary mortgage market, home building industry and every other directly effected poor Son of A B can go to Hell in a hand basket, but this guy (in my opinion) and a few others like him sit back in the chair and smile while they say to themselves, “I’m Good”
