05 May 09 “The History of Unintended Consequence”. Obama’s failure to study what has worked and what has not is going to compell him to commit error after error. Cap and trade is just one.

The title of this post says it all. Obama moves with a goal or thought in mind. However the goal or thought has not taken into consideration the “Unintended Consequence” of the action he takes.

The economy is slow, sluggish almost frozen. Obama’s plan of action: “Spend to stimulate” it seems logical to him and he was prepared to move on it and he did. The result, the most “pork laden” pile of political payback ever piled together and called a Bill. Did it stimulate, perhaps a bit in the short run; but what “Unintended Consequence” has it brought? For one the perception of totally biased favorite son spending. Hundreds of “Earmark” projects handed out to Obama supporters firmly cements the appearance of of unethical reward for votes. The additional debt will rob billions of dollars of interest from our budgets for the next thirty years. The companies that were in trouble are still in trouble (AIG, Chrysler, GM just to name a few). Borrowing for truly needed items (perhaps missile defense,  or stabilizing social security) will be impaired by the garbage debt that has been already thrown on the heap.

The relationship with the unions. The appointment of Hilda Solis. Actions to cement votes for Obama and others that follow after him. The kidnapping & placement of the Census (under the control now of the White House Chief of Staff). These actions were all vote gathering efforts. I understand the purpose. Favor the unions and their membership supports you. Grants rights to the illegal immigrants and when they get their vote, they and their families support you. Control the count and models used in the Census, the figures you’ve created support you. I understand!

But here are the “Unintended Consequences” from the above actions. The total pandering to the Unions doesn’t breed an efficiency into production. it fosters inefficiency. The Union through force and threat of strike extorts as much as it can from management so it, the union, can reap it’s reward from the membership’s paychecks. The history of this is well written in the UAW. The Union is just as guilty for the demise of the auto industry in America as is bad management. The millions of illegal immigrants and millions more that will arrive in the future may bring votes if Obama gets his way, but they are without assets. they have no skills. They bring mouths to feed and medical problems for the emergency rooms. To be sure some will be wonderful citizens if given the opportunity; but how many more will bring back packs loaded with drugs and come with no way to support themselves? The true comedy is that the separate factions the Unions & the Illegals; are counter to one another. The more illegals Obama allows the more it hurts the Unions members. Solis, Obama’s pick for labor is on the record she wants full citizenship for illegals. She wants to add them to the already overburdened Social Security system. They will not be contributing at the top levels they will be at the bottom adding very little but demanding health & disability benefits. “Unintended Consequence”…

Obama  wants to be liked by our former enemies so his personal style is apologetic and layback. the consequence has been a face full of “Spit” from North Korea, Iran, Nicaragua, et al. His bowing and embraces of villians make him a laughing stock in France and a poster boy for Al Quaeda recruiters. Obama fears global disdain for American strength so he closed Gitmo, but has nowhere to place the toxic prisoners; he publically humiliates the CIA and weakens the protections they use to keep us safe; but he has no other answer for terrorists. “Unintended Consequence”…

Now he, Obama, moves to “Cap and Trade” a misnomer for energy tax. He believes it will make the “Far Left” of his support base feel better. He may even believe it will effect Global Warming, but that whole concept is starting to become unravelled itself. However Obama hasn’t studied where it has been put in place. Spain has had this misguided policy for over a dozen years. In 1997 they started subsidizing their Green Industry. It was supposed to create jobs, it didn’t jobs were lost and unemployment in Spain is almost 18%. It was supposed to be a boon economically, it wasn’t, studies show each job cost $750,000 plus to create and as stated 9 out of 10 that were created at this cost are gone. Industry that was struggling to survive was taxed out of existence; 2.2 jobs were lost for each 1 that was created. Families paid more for every minute of electricity they used. Obama has refused to study the “Unintended Consequence”.

When will this stop?
